Introduction

Aluminium alloy 2014 is a very high strength alloy. In certain tempers if offers good machining characteristics. Most often used in aerospace and defence equipment.

Applications

Alloy 2014 is commonly used for aerospace components and fittings due to its high strength. Other applications include; military vehicles, bridges, weapons manufacture and structural applications.

Aerospace materials are covered by the ā€˜Lā€™ series of British standards.
